Like I've told you before, they are a high 16 second truck. I have the 1990 in my sig and its a 12 second truck at the moment, just getting faster. The 350 TBI engines were rated at 210hp and 300 ft lbs of torque. Don't feel bad though, the pre-86 350s in the trucks was a 160hp. The 305 TBI is 180 hp though.

You really need to start with the basics, Open air K&N filter assembly, headers(short or long tube doesn't matter), exhaust(if you go duals go 2.5", if you go a single go 3.0"). After that, but in a shift kit in your tranny to firm up the shifts. Those mods will get you into the low 16's. Then you have tons of options once that is done like 3.73s, electric fans, add some vortec heads, cam, and vortec intake(cheapest option) or a set of Dart, AFR, etc 180cc heads, cam, and Edelbrock intake. Should be good for 14's at that point.

Thanks for the info. I've already got my exhaust planned out, three inch off the y into a single cherrybomb the quietish way lol and to a three inch finish probably dumped before the rear axle. I keep hearing about the e-fans, are they just upgraded rad fans? and do you know what the stock gear ratio is or where i can find it?
Also i can get all that vortec stuff for a decent price, i know a scrapyard owner. are they just a straight bolt-on?

Vortec is bolt on but you are going to need to replace the springs, retainers, etc so that they match the cam you are going with. You will need a vortec intake manifold though. Electric fans replace the clutch on the water pump. Basically two things happen, you take the rotational force of spinning the fan off the engine and allow it to spin quicker producing more power. Stock gear ratio is 3.08 more than likely. You should see a bunch of codes in the glove compartment, door jam, or under the hood and just look for the rear gear code. I'll have to look up the numbers, don't remember them off hand.

Stock rwhp numbers is about 160rwhp so yeah, that's in the ballpark.

I was pretty sure that my truck has 275Hp but maybe that is just to the crank. I have a 1990 EFI

That is certainly not stock. Stock is 210hp adn 300 ft lbs. The 454ss stock numbers is 255hp and 415 or 435ft lbs of torque depending on the year.

OK so thats 210 at the motor? or at the wheels? Because if it has 210 at the motor, that means I am only putting down about 160, that would really suck

Yep...210 at the fly. Most dyno between 150-160 rwhp. TBI engines are torque engines.

I got my 350TBI engine down to about a 16.0 with nothing internal done by the G-tech and a 7.5 0-60, that was with headers, high-flow cat, cat back(edlebrock), Jacob's ignition system, Ultra Coil, K&N open 14x4 assembly, some TBI mods, electric fans, 3.73 gears, and shift kit/servo in the tranny....that was with about 200k on the engine. Then I dropped in my 383 TBI and went 6.7 0-60, and 15.5 1/4. I had a really small cam in it b/c I wanted a mpg cruiser b/c I was on my way to college. After 60mph, the truck just fell over.
