View Full Version : 1/4 mile times for Tundras? MrDestinE 03-09-2007, 09:04 PM How about it guys..... any of you new members with a Tundra 5.7 gone to the track?? Post em up? TJ Tjchapin 03-10-2007, 01:27 AM No but in a "unofficial" 1/4 mile run Ibeat my buddies '06 hemi quad with CAI, superchip, and flowmasters by 2-3 lengths, said he was running low 15's. MrDestinE 03-11-2007, 08:00 PM No but in a "unofficial" 1/4 mile run Ibeat my buddies '06 hemi quad with CAI, superchip, and flowmasters by 2-3 lengths, said he was running low 15's. hmmmm, your buddies Hemi is a little slow with those mods.... but then again I have heard the 06s are a little slower due to the MDS... dam PCMs we have... where are you located? if I may ask..... TJ dkota196800 04-04-2007, 06:28 AM Heard tundras run'n high 14's, thats what the crewmax short bed has been testing in magazines. There is supposed to be a rcsb coming out with the 5.7, times should def. drop with less weight. VTODD 04-04-2007, 07:45 AM i would not be suprised by a high 13 with a good driver and great weather, in a RCSB RWD 5.7L Tundra. Todd MrDestinE 04-14-2007, 07:57 PM I can see those times, IF given all the above and the truck is not hampered with a lot of Torque Management and the weight is less that 4700 raceweight or less... TJ 07Sport 04-14-2007, 08:53 PM reg. cabs such as mine have a weight right at 4800lbs w/o driver. youd have to do some tailgate/spare removal etc to get down to that weight. It does have some tq management but not as severe as the dodges ive had. I think you could be into the 13s at full weight with just cai, exhaust and some drs. Ive read a post by a dodge owner that was at a test day for the Tundras at Daytona that ran a 14.1 in a stock reg. cab Tundra. He said the fastest time was right at 13.8x. dvzz28 10-18-2007, 07:45 PM His tundra is an 07 probably has less than 5k miles and run 14.78 at Gatway in St. Louis a few days ago. No Mods, isn't even the TRD model, single exhaust. Removed spare. In 4hi with traction control off. Damm, probably have to SC my 03 Silverado to keep up. mikecheat04 10-24-2007, 03:30 PM I ran a 14.181 bone stock and 13.924 with intake and exhaust. 07Sport 11-13-2007, 09:32 PM I ran a 14.181 bone stock and 13.924 with intake and exhaust. crickets... :engarde: rivierakid55 11-13-2007, 09:53 PM I ran a 14.181 bone stock and 13.924 with intake and exhaust. im still trying to figure out how you can run a 13.92 at 98 mph i think but you can go zero to 100 in 14.1 at 100mph? kinda confusing. 07Sport 11-13-2007, 10:00 PM im still trying to figure out how you can run a 13.92 at 98 mph i think but you can go zero to 100 in 14.1 at 100mph? kinda confusing. youve seen the video of his 14.2 yes? rivierakid55 11-13-2007, 10:04 PM youve seen the video of his 14.2 yes? yes I have. what am i missing? a lot of tire spin i guess? 07Sport 11-13-2007, 11:08 PM beats me Snacktime 11-14-2007, 12:07 PM They are fast for a damn stock truck time to go poke around tundrasolutions :secret2: HotRodV6 12-13-2007, 01:20 AM well im likeing the new Tundra the more i see it, but the drivetrain is awesome, and its very obvious that toyota was going after the sport truck market when the made the RCSB 5.7 6 spd auto available, i mean 381 horse, 401 TQ thru the 6 spd auto and a 4.30 rear gear if you get the sport package, i figured high 13's would be pretty easy with these specs. I built one out on the yota website, and it rane about 27K, which compared to the Joe Gibbs, or Silverado SS or the Lightening, and way less than the SRT-10 Ram, id say it has a lot of bang for the buck. I think once they crack to PCM and start doing some real tuning on these things your going to see some fast trucks with very short mod list. Snacktime 12-13-2007, 11:13 AM Denali is also a go $10k more... I think gm needs a kick in the pants and so does dodge and ford and nissan and the trundra is doing it! TouchOfEvil04 12-13-2007, 06:14 PM Denali is also a go $10k more... I think gm needs a kick in the pants and so does dodge and ford and nissan and the trundra is doing it! Do you really think the price is that big of a deal when you get a 4door truck vs a regcab? I mean it only makes sense to pay more for something that is bigger and alot nicer on the inside and out. outlawz2004 12-13-2007, 06:46 PM I was at red river when MikeCheat ran the 14.1. That truck does move. MikeCheat, do you remember this: http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff150/outlawz2004/?action=view¤t=chevyagainsthemi.flv http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff150/outlawz2004/?action=view¤t=chevyagainst383dakota.flv http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff150/outlawz2004/?action=view¤t=chevyagainst383dakota2ndrun.flv I had the silver silverado. 07Sport 12-13-2007, 06:49 PM Isnt this comparing apples and oranges? Denali would be best compared to a Double Cab Limited. And then a reg. cab slt vs. a reg. cab sport. In match up one, the prices probly arent that far apart. Both are very nice trucks, both make good power, and both are probly very close in performance. In match up two, the prices probly arent that far apart. Both are very nice trucks, the Toyota has the clear edge in stock performance, but the GMs are easily modded to be competitive. Internet pissing matches accomplish nothing. outlawz2004 12-14-2007, 08:34 PM I agree with 07sport. You have to mod a gm to compete with the toyota stock. markislive78 12-14-2007, 09:22 PM My 4dr went 13.87 on intake,tune,exhaust....Just think my motor/tranny in a single cab... Video in my sig.. 07Sport 12-14-2007, 10:28 PM My 4dr went 13.87 on intake,tune,exhaust....Just think my motor/tranny in a single cab... Video in my sig.. Yeah, if the Tundras had an actual custom tuning option, I think there would be big gains to be had there. I think we will be lucky to get a programmer, much less an actual in depth tune. Sharp truck by the by. outlawz2004 12-14-2007, 10:34 PM Sweet truck markislive78. Awesome times too. outlawz2004 12-14-2007, 10:36 PM Gm needs to put that motor in a reg cab. |
