Default Tuning for Gas mileage

I dont know if this is even possible. But I am going on a 1500 mile road trip in about a month. Im going to get with my tuner before then hopefully and try to get a tune to allow for 87 octane and the best possible gas mileage, in the speeds of 65-80 and rpms of 2200-2500, 4.10s and 29" tire dont make for the best HWY fuel economy. Just lookin for something to get my cammed/stalled truck down the highway at the best fuel economy possible. 1500 miles, 315 miles avg tank now with 50/50 city and hwy drivin. Its gettin on up their in gas.

ANy help is appreciated and im sure my tuner will see this.

Why not demod before the trip? The stall is killing gas mileage..and if you're still running the GT2-3 you could get by without a stall for that cam. I think I still have some 3.42 gears and an open diff. I'll give you if you want to pull that stuff out!

Have him do a search on HPtuners board for tips on how to improve the mpg.
I improved mine almost 4 mpg.
A agressive DFCO setting will help alot.

DFCO, and timing in the cruise areas. Your in CL so you can't do a lean cruise so you'll have to maximize your timing and DFCO.

timing in the cruise area's? So maximize timing? SO in the long run would it be more cost effiecient to maximize the timing and run the 93 or maximize timing on 87?

I would much rather meet you in Conway or somewhere like that than ship it. Briles gave me the 3.42's and open diff. for some reason, can't remember. But yeah I'm sure I still have both and I'll just give them to you cause it would seem wrong to sell something someone gave me!

i prolly have no idea what i'm talking about but, i'd max timing and run 91 or whatever...don't the computers pull timing when a lower octane is detected to "prevent" detonation? pulled timing means less performance/mileage right?
