My dad's truck needs a new engine. He has a 2000 f150 with the 4.6. Are the 4.6 and 5.4 engines a direct swap? Is a 4.6 mustang motor interchangable with a 4.6 truck motor? I've done a little bit of research and it seems that ford motors changed quite a bit between years and I want to find one that fits.

DO you know if the mustang motor is the same as the truck 4.6? If so ask your friend and depending on freight I may be interested.

I tried to get a rouch supercharger cause I thought
the 4.6 that I have in my 05 would take the same motor
as the 4.6 for the mustang, and they told me I would have to change
all my pullys in the front and the fuel pump on the mustang is completely different also the intake manifold is also different, other than that I could change it, and Im now wondering on doing something different. So on the most part its interchangeable but somethings you will have to adapt..
