Looks like a great runner :)

What kind of 60's are you pulling on the average and what's your best?

Mind explaining your rear suspension setup. Being 60-72 is pretty much the same, it looks like you have a handle on it.

My thoughts were to:
Keep stock truck Arms
Buy Hal adjustable coil overs and remove stock springs/shocks
Make an adjustable PH bar

But I would like to hear what you have done. TIA

Shaun

EDIT: I found some info in another link

71 swb chevy weighs 4050lbs with a cage and me in it. with stock coil overs and shocks, the best 60' is a 1.463, and i run 15x8" rally wheel with a 29.5x10.5W slick

Very impressive. What does it 60' off the bottle?

i think my best 60' on the motor was 1.68, and a 1.70 being average for it which sucks. On the bottle the best 60' is a 1.463 which i think can and will get better. The rear of the truck still retains all the stock suspension it came from the factory with, but a buddy of mine has made some upper control arms for the back that are adjustable, and he said they helped his truck alot so i'm thinking about buying a pair. Another thing that i'm going to do is buy a set of aluminum rims for it,and that will take alittle weight off. i hope this helps

So adding UCA's making it in to more of a ladder bar or seperate mountng points making it more like a 4 link?

One of my thoughts was to cut the mounts loose from the rear so pinion could be changes and add a 3rd link up top. But if you cutting sub 1.5 60's I think I'll just put the shock spring combo in with the adjustable PH bar and call it a day.

How high is the stall flashing on the bottle?

my truck has upper control arms and coil springs from the factory, all i'm doing is making the upper control arm's adjustable kinda like someone putting adjustable UCA's on a G-body car,and the 1.463 is only when i hit the button, and the converter is a 3500 Neal Chance bolt together, you can have the stall changed in it,i think it stalls up to about 2600 before it starts wanting to push through the brakes

Got any pics of the rear suspension?

I have never seen UCA's in a 60-72 only LCA's. The LCA's start from almost center of the frame about the rear of the cab and angle outwards towards the axle ends. The rearend actually sits on top of the arms. There is a coil that sits between the frame and the LCA's. From what I am understanding you are saying yours is different?

Here is what I am talking about shown in an LMC catalop. This is for 67-72.

Here is the LMC stuff for 60-66.. Same thing.

I think the fourth picture is the best... that's just my opinion. That's a good lookin' truck--bet it sounds good too.

Is it 450 to the wheels? Who cares, that's just cool.

http://lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe/0067.asphey man I just read this and found out one of my good friends got my pass word and decided it would be funny to act like me. So I apologize for him giving you the wrong information on my rearend. OK now yes the link you posted is exactly what my rearend looks like, the coil spring might be a Bell Tech lowering spring so i'll ask the guy I bought it from

4 bar setup.. It will not ride as smooth as the current truck arm setup due to more connection points causing potential bind issues. Secondly, having the 4 bar paralel your instant center of gravity will change dramatially. I bet your 60's would be slower due to less antisquat.

Now if you built it 4 link style you could adjust for more antisquat and probably improve your 60's but again ride quality will suffer some.

Take a look at my Camaro's set up. I did a 3 link in it. It will still have the articulation and real no bind issues helping ride quality. It can also be adjusted to have a lot of antisquat helping plant those rear tires. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=644613

This is the route I would go if I ever changed the rear suspension around in my truck.

Looks like it should keep the rear stable.

If anything, it looks cool.

Is this another buddies truck?

I wish I could see more of it. From "plan view" are the LCA's paralel or do the intersect out in front of the truck?

From the angle of the pic, it looks like there is a inch or so difference between the LCA rear height and the front point. Can you confirm this?

Definately some long arms. I wonder what the antisquat numbers look like.
