I have a 1986 c-10 that I am currently in the process of making a hot rod out of, and would like to convert it to hydroboost. The cam that is in it right now is pretty much right on the edge of being able to run power brakes and I don't want to do manuals... I see that Summit sells a kit, but its about $550.. Any ideas on how I could do it cheaper? I know some older trucks came with it from the factory, but would it be easier to maybe look in junk yards and such for factory stuff, or maybe go to a parts store and buy it all new? Also I know that some newer vehicles came with it, how about those? I currently have a vacuum reserve canister waiting to be installed, but im not sure how much it will help... Any ideas??

I would just go junkyarding and find an older diesel or something that had it and rob it from there.

Thats kinda what I was thinking. What exactly would I need to grab? Obviously booster, master cylinder, and the pump, but any other little odds and ends? Thanks for the quick reply btw

That should be it, as far I can think. :)
