Keys & Shackles, Stock shocks?
#1
I am looking to do Belltech 2" shackles and lowering keys on my Silverado. I currently only have the rear 2" lift blocks removed. If I did the keys and shackles can I use the stock 4x4 shocks for the time being? Am I going to hurt anything? I understand I may have to trim my bump stops some and am not worried about that. I plan on doing Bilsteins in the spring. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should be OK up front (not ideal, but OK) out back you'll just have to see. You may bottom out on them a little. If they are too long, even some cheap toxics or monroes would be better than the bottoming out stockers just to get by.

I did this exact drop plus I removed the bottom over load spring and I bottom out on my stock shocks in the back on railroad tracks if I am going over 30mph. I removed the rear bumpstops too. The front is fine as long as you trim the bumpstops. I Monroe Sensa Trac shocks on the back right now. Can't decide if I should keep them or go with either Edelbrock or Bilstein.

I'm currently running that exact setup you mentioned (keys, shackles, lift blocks removed), with Bilstein factory replacement shocks and no problems that I have noticed. I really want to get some proper length shocks intended for a lowered truck, just don't have the coin and don't know which shocks will fit my application. But in the mean time, my current shocks are getting by.
