I am picking up my new 07 Haulmark 24x8.5 enclosed car hauler on Saturday. Is there anything I need to look for or watch out for when towing.

My truck 2006 Silverado 1500 CC 3LT, VortecMax Pack 6.0L, 3.73 with heavy duty trailering package.

Per GM my truck can tow 10,100lbs w/ the 3.73 w/ a GCWR of 15,500

yup, that'd be about it. It sounds like the truck itself is more than capable.

 

The only other thing I would recommend is a weight distribution hitch. Makes large trailers like that pull much better.

 

Thanks yep the brake controller is installed. I was told about the weight distribution hitch does anyone know of any good places I tried Ebay and I saw only 1 and I did a serach on Google but I could not find any places that sold them.

that hitch will help with sway if the trailer is not loaded right. With your long wheel base its not needed. I pull a 28' with my yukon and it does great. Milage drops like a rock though. lol

I have pulled heavy enough loads to bend the reciever part the ball mounts to, and it pulled like a dream.

 

New tires, wait till those cheap *** p metric tires GM puts on get a load on them. They'll wear out quick and you'll drift all over the road with the weak sidewalls. I'd say tires if your gonna have a car in that trailer to go with the brake controller.
