I do every now and then to keep it from shifting back and forth between gears. Why?

I have a short commute and rarely get over 45-50. I always keep in in 3, old habit, I doubt it does all that much, but considering how bad I beat on it, every little bit counts.

to me it seems better for the tranny to not be shifting as much. also being in overdrive goin 35 miles an hour, everytime you barely give it more gas it has to downshift

I do also. Actually, gas mileage is a little better by doing this too.

I leave mine in D. But with 4.10's, I'm in OD by 35mph at part throttle.

I used to drive mine in 3rd gear around town because it would lock the TC up at 41mph and fall on its face. I had the tune changed to prevent TC lockup until 50 mph and now I think it runs just like it should have from the factory.
I run in "D" all the time now. This was a great tunning mod and I would suggest this to anyone just to improve around town driving manners.
