i just noticed this on a 07 5.3 truck we got in the shop..they have 243 ls6 heads on them

yep the 07 NBS come with the 243 casting heads, I drive one at work everyday lol, very smooth ride.

I checked the heads on my truck they are the old 862 castings for the LM7. But my truck is a "Classic" 07

yes they are the ls6 style 243 castings, but with the smaller valves from the 862 castings.

The 5.3 in the 2007 Yukon makes 320 hp and 340 tq so I would imagine that it would be the same for the truck...

the 5.3L is rated at 315hp on the new body 2007s
