Default high oil pressure

???is that a bad thing.

i swapped my 5.3 for a ls1 yesterday. i reused the ls1's oil pump. i never payed too much attention to what the 5.3 oil pressure was but i know it wasnt anywhere near this high. its hitting the 3/4 (60psi i think) mark on my pressure guage at idle. when i romp on it it gets a little past 80 psi and when i let out it takes a while for the needle to settle back down.

is this normal or do i need to throw my 5.3 oil pump in? or is it something else

I'm guessing your oil pressure sender is bad. Did you use the one from the 5.3? If not, swap them and see if it changes.

Mine has been doing the same thing for about a year now. I thought that was the normal pressure.

My oil pressure has been 60 psi @ idle and 80 psi under throttle since I bought it 4+ years ago.

Mine idles around 36 psi. It gradually goes up as the rpm's rise.
Though I think this is normal on the 6.0L engine.
Congrats on the motor swap Stewart!
Damn, you did that fast.
