I have audible ping but no KR .
what's the difference and should I be concerned.
I believe ping is small hot spots doing small fuel burn and knock is big hot spots doing full cylinder burn before spark....???????
I get ping all the time, but no or little KR with my scanner.
IAT'S etc are all normal, timing 16 deg at wot, 9 psi at wot with little or no KR. wot is not the issue, daily driving ping concerns me
What do you think?

a little lean for daily driving may be right.
when i first installed the radix with the superchips tune, my mpg went down by 10%= rich, we all know they do that on purpose. safe
with the nelson pcm i got my mpg back, therefore may be lean with nelson pcm[not dyno, but mailorder tune], but got 4 more deg of timing at wot and better drivibility
afr's in very high 11's at wot though, but that's not too lean, daily driving afr's all over the place 13-14-15 16- depending on load and rpm
I still have the oe pcm with the superchips tune, maybe i'll swap it out and see how it sounds, ping wise

Just ask Allen to back the timing off some in the spots where it knocks......he is one of the more aggressive mail order tuners so you might just have too much timing. Email him and see what he says.

so this ping came on with allen's changes and is always there? every tank of gas? 16* isn't too bad IMO, but your truck just may not like it. You are a 2004, returnless system. Make sure your fuel system is operating correctly, pressure is good. What octane fuel are you running?
