Ok, you guys asked for a classic/OBS truck section now let's see if you use it. :P ;)
We left this forum covering a very broad range of years/topics but, can in the future break things out some more if the need arises. :)

i don't know old trucks very well, and when i finally remembered to bring a camera, he garaged it. He lives next to my parents. Let me see if i can find one online that "looks" like it. I think its beautiful as far as old trucks go on their style. Nice round curves. Big round front fenders. It's not in mint condition, but very nice looking.
I'll eventually get a pic of it.

oh crap...that's harder than i thought. LOL did a quick google search and holy moly.
I just looked at all between '49 to '60. I don't think it's a '56 but that's the closet style that it looks like. It definitely isn't closer to the '60's and it isn't the '49 or '50. I'll get a pic. I think it's a damn nice looking truck. He never drives it or even takes it to shows. Not i think it is show worthy. But I've seen him start it up and drive it around the block to park it a different way. He's a weird guy, hardly talks. I'll get some snap shots of it.

the late 40's windshields seem too sloped in the googled pics.

47-early 54 look extreamly close. Early 54 has a 1 piece winshieald where 47-53 have a 2 piece. Late 54 and 55 had a slightly different grill (not sure if the fenders work either) but the rest if the truck is the same.
56-57 were single head light grill similar 58-59 dual headlight completly different grill.
60-61 had a double bubble hood
62-63 same (curved windshield) different grills
64-66 Same (even same grills)
This is a great place to look at things.. http://www.oldchevytruck.com/chevytrucksforsale/

This is great! I'm actually doing a 5.3L engine swap into my chevy and this site has some great info for that. Can't wait to get it in and see how she runs with EFI and an overdrive tranny!

Alright guys ive got a lot of questions for you. Ive got a 83 short wide bed and i m building a chevy 408 stroker. Dont know much just had some cash layin around and started to play with it a little. I want toi do the L92/L76 intake. My questions are what does it take as far as wiring to get the motor working. Do i have to have a wiring harness for a 6.0l. Probably use a 4l60 tranny. any help will be great thanks

I'm in process of putting an '01 6.0/4L80E into my '61 stepside.:judge: Maybe we can swap some info.:secret: Mounted engine and tranny last week. Passenger side ex. manifold fit good from '01 Silverado 2500; but driver side needs an ex. manifold from a 99 T'Am with LS1: I know 'cause I borrowed one from a fellow swapper & it makes entire setup look right at home. Gotta find that manifold!? Made our own mts. using '01's from engine--no plates. So my install may be higher than some. You gonna install ac?

Hey luvbowties. I now have the engine in and running great! My next step is to install A/C and I'm going to use the factory A/C compressor and mounts. I used a custom motor mount setup and had to fabricate the final setup so that I could get the engine where I wanted it... I did have to notch the frame a little to get the driver side manifold in, but I was able to use the stock manifolds from an 02' silverado. Let me know if you run into a bind. I would like to see how your setup comes out. What are you doing for wiring? I worked pretty hard to keep everything clean.
