I have been tossing around allot of ideas and I am kinda leaning twards this one. 98-or newer S-10 with a 408/T-56 and a small shot of nitrous :) Ford 9" rear and some slicks in the rear for the track. Planning on doing NO a/c and a LS6 Intake. Anyone have any thoughts on this or ideas?

This is nothing that will happen overnite but hey you gotta start a project somewhere, I realy want to do a single front mount turbo but due to the space available I think Ill be pushing it.

I am thinking with a decent but yet mild mannered cam and the T-56 combo It would make a good cruiser while still being able to knock down some good times at the track.

I was kidding when I said SMALL.....I am going to do forged internals and build it so that If I want to boost it in the future I can.

yea a front mount turbo in those engine bays is pretty close to impossible. you would have to set the motor back a little bit due to the big v8. the project sounds like it would be sick as hell. get some big tubs in the back for some fatty slicks.

Ya I am figureing on a shorted rear axle and some bed modifications.

All within reason, I want it to be perfectly streetable. I am thinking that even on all motor it will be very healthy. Oh and this will be a standard cab not ext. cab.

Sounds like a pretty sweet project. Keep us up to date when you get it going.

I just love any kind of S-Series performance. :)

Will do man, as of now I dont know when it will begin. Just a thought at this point, although I am keeping my eyes open for some stuff.

Ozrein- Thanks, I used to have one awhile ago and have always wanted to build one with a V8 and 6spd. So I figure if I am going to do a V8 I will make it worth the effort and go big. It did cross my mind of doing a old school 327 and making it a high RPM motor but I want to stay LSX based.

The torque of a 408 combined with the low 1st gear of the T56 should make it interesting. The nice thing about this setup I believe is that I can go with a fairly big cam and still be streetable with the 6spd, also the lower wieght of the S-10.

Just from doing some reading on some of the dime forums, big motor with a manual and even fat slicks under the rear equals and interesting ride, its supposedly really hard to launch. I think a fully built 60e with a transbrake would be funner and easier to control on the street.

Or just put an AWD setup in it and have some real fun :)

I know this may be true, however the only way this is getting done is with a 6spd. Gotta have it, I love manuals and I am sick of auto's.
