View Full Version : is an srt10 really this cheap?

someone just told me there are 60(sixty) srt10's at the local dealer(really big dealer) and it says 30,200 for a rcsb. are they really this cheap? does that mean there are some used ones going prety cheap?

silverbrick
11-21-2006, 11:24 PM
seems to me like they just WAY overstocked on them and need them off the lot for the year end tax stuff... i just did kelly blue book for a 2006 with 12000 in excellent condition with standard options and it came out to 35k.... trade in price so it seems it would be an absolute steal to get one for 30.2k

brand new MSRP is 48.5 and dealer invoice is 42.8

That's about as cheap as I've even seen used ones going for. I'd have to doubt that very seriously. There is a black '04 on Ebay right now for $25,990 buy it now...with 18k miles on it. There is also an '05 with 6k miles on it for $30,900, and it says it's below wholesale. I can't imagine any one dealer having 60 of them on the lot. I'd prob. go for something like this IF I were looking for one.

I hope that Henessey RCSB that was for sale last year, that I posted the link to....didn't burn some sort of twisted image into your brain! I remember everyone talking about how overpriced it was at $50k....and you were the only one who agreed with me that it wasn't THAT outrageous for a 10 second truck with all of those high dollar pieces on it. Shit, I think it had about $8k worth of rims and tires on it, and a video to prove it ran mid 10's.

You're not.....are you?

i called the dealer today. this is a big freeking dealer. something like 15,000 trucks at any one time on their lot. the guy told me it was true. they had 55 of them this weekend and the cheapest of them were listed at 30,190. he also said all 55 of them are spoken for and that they started with 120 of them all 06 models. seems crazy to me but it doesn't matter, i was too slow and missed out. really to me $30k seems like a fair price for a new one. it just a 2wd truck with a big motor.

I thought I heard they are ending the SRT-10 ram production this year. Also heard one dealership bought all of the remaining srt-10's on the production line, probably this one your talking to.

They are redoing the V-10 so the Viper will be back out on top, the new vette stole it from them. No idea if the ram is coming back as an srt-10, but more likely we will see a big hemi in a ram as an srt-8. 6.1L isn't big enough, it will make for a high 13 second ram (if they don't put a hard to shift 6 speed in like the current Reg cab has), but you'll probably see the 6.4L (392) or the rumored 6.7L hemi get dumped in.

Id still be calling them every week telling them your ready to buy. Id say you have a good chance of getting one becuase one or two deals will fall through. Id speak to different salesman everytime.

he actualy asked me if i wanted to put my name in just in case one of the sales fell thru.

thing is i dont know if i would want one. if i could turn it around and sell it for a profit maybe but the way things work around here i would have to pay sales tax on it before reselling it$$$$

BADMOFO

I would imagine that at least 75% of the 55 units are spoken for by other dealers....at least. Prob. not much chance of a deal falling thru. I agree that $30ish is a "fair" price for a new RCSB, and I would MUCH rather have the ECSB as it is much more truck for the money. I don't wanna shift gears either.....in a truck anyway.

i found the add in the paper so it must have been true. price was 30,300.

now for the really unbelievable deal. they were leasing them for $250/mo. $2500 down 10,500 miles a year. now that seems like a decent deal.

I know here in SC, there are a few dealerships that have 5 or 6 on the lot . . . My friend who works there says some those trucks they have have been there for 6-7 months priced to $30K :eek2:

He didn't come out and say SRT10 now did he.........he said Dodge. I don't think anyone would even be stupid enough to compare those 2 vehicles, my point was every brand has slow sellers, its still new SSRs on the lots around here in NC, another slow seller from GM as well as the GTO. I ain't knocking GM cause I own one myself and I'm not brand loyal that hard, but in all defense, every mfg. out there has some slow sellers. Dodge figured the SRT10 Ram was going to be a slow seller to begin with when the fuel mileage was listed as 9 & 12 and it retailed for $43K and up. They only wanted one thing when it was produced, and they got that award..................THE FASTEST FACTORY PRODUCED TRUCK OFF THE LOT THAT MONEY CAN BUY.

Not in the stock production form..........but if you want to be technical and talk about modded trucks, then the Lightnings win, hands down.

I ain't your typical dodge guy though.............hell, I do all brands, but my fastest toy is the 86 Shelby charger I just finished. I've got down to 2 of the shelby cars now, my all original shelby charger santa fe blue and the other one which is my toy/project, same years, same color. One my son daily drives and is in brand new shape. The project is running a TIV all forged bottom end with a TII set up, all polished and ported intake and exhaust, built 413, and a ton of other mods, lightened a bunch and it just set in on a 10.55 at a 134 MPH, and thats on 18 lbs of boost. The grand national is pretty much stock other than exhaust and a few simple bolt on improvements. My shelby Z I sold this year was cutting 11.2s in almost street trim, now its gutted and is a track car only, it'll be making it out to VMP this spring if any of you go out there, friend of mine picked it up. I've got a few videos of the shelby on my homepage.

Cool, then maybe we can see some of your work here at our test facility and the four miles of test tracks they are fixing to build here in NC. Gm, Lotus, Ferrari, and a few others are going to be using it as well. Hang on and I'll get a link up for it.

Well like i said in another post.... Gm performance is starting to get more street based products.... were not just strictly racecars anymore... We have seen the potential in the street performance aftermarket and we are gonna immerse ourselves in it....

when we jump in the market alot of the other companies arent gonna know what hit em

and yes i have not heard of this facility but if that is the case and gm will be doing work there then you will definitely see some of my work there... along with myself there...
