Hi vince...I'm takeing a long road trip for vacation and I was wondering if my tranny dies on me (knock on wood) in some small town, how long would it take you to get a 4l60e with the level 3 out your door and on it's way to me?
As you know my tranny has me a little nervous so I'm getting a back up plan in place just incase the worse happends. I'm not sure if you only build trannys as needed or have them in stock ready to ship?

Thanks...Scott Hall

Hey Scott,

If you have doubts about your trans going down I would do it before you go. I'm not sure if we have talked before(I talk to alot of people) but I sure wouldn't want my pride and joy or my family stuck on the side of the road. We are looking to put some unit's in stock but haven't had time this year to even think about inventory. We stay pretty busy these day's. We are currently trying to stay with a two week waiting period but this can be hard to do being busy on the phone and also trying to run the shop. If you get stuck we will do our best to get you up and running. We really don't like to do this because it really is not fair to the other guy's on the list. I'm sure you can understand this if you were in their shoes. We do go out of way for alot of people who contact us and I guess that is what customer service is all about. I'm sure some members of this board can confirm this. If you decide to chance it we will do our best if you get stuck. That is all I can promise. Good luck Vince.

Vince and Chuck too care of me and pulled my fat out of the fire when I went down... I am sure they will do what they can to accomidate you... dont expect miracles though. when they build one of their trannies, it comes out GREAT... finished product is unlike any I have seen come from a builder. quality takes time IMO... If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten my tranny on order when mine was on its way out... not after it bit the dust completely. I was without wheels for a good while due to the trans and a few other problems I was discovering... I got a level 5 in her now with all the bells and whistles and couldnt be happier

If you are concerned, change before you leave.

OK thanks vince and friends. I sure hope I trip over a suit case full of money some day soon. I'm putting new floors in my house right now and today I find out my septic tank took a **** and will be over 2grand to fix that and as you know my tranny is on the blink. I added a quart of lucas transmission fix and now it feels and shifts great with no slipping. I can't believe it does what the bottle says it will do,but for how long who knows.

I would look at a sonnax servo for that thing... it will make it shift and hold so much better...

It has a corvette servo already. One thing I was wondering is the slop in my drive line. I check the U joints and there tight so would this have anything to do with the tranny? Does a tranny start to get sloppy when going from park to drive with the brake on.

hahahha, i dont care who you are, that's funny right there. Anyway, maybe you should change your filter and fluid before you go and just take it easy. That, or just rent a car if it's not on your budget to get an FLT right now.
