Damn, you read my mind. That's exactly how I got into my current career. Started off going into Auto mechanic but found that I like it better as a hobby than a job.
Now I work for the County IT dept. Pays much better too! :nod:

the paint shop is incredible. air conditioned suits for sanding and finsh work in the paint bays, they have some sweet equipment

we have some pretty stout setups all though the company. they are spending alot of money right now updating the entire facility. its nice to build cabinets in a climate controled shop. ive always worked outta giant garages basically.

Yeah, it is hard not to get sidetracked when a students starts discussing cars/trucks or racing. One cool thing though, I did get to chaperone a group of students to the O'Reilly Fall Nationals Qualifying in Ennis, for free. :)
