Default Gears 3.73 vs. 4.10 Where to buy?

I'm lookin for a set of gears for my G80. I want atleast a 3.73 but probably even a 4.10. What is the advantages of the 4.10 over the 3.73 and vice-versa? What do you guys reccommend? How much more will the 4.10's hurt my gas mileage over the 3.73's? And finally where should I buy them at and what's the price I should be looking at? (if anybody has any used ones i'd be willing to buy)

When I put my Eaton LSD in I switched from 3.73 to 4.10. I really didnt notice a difference performance wise but I do sit higher in the RPM range at cruise, worse MPG. Your choice is
A. MPG is a concern=3.73
B. MPG is not a concern=4.56

There wasnt enough difference between 3.73 and 4.10 for me to even recommend 4.10 to you. Go big or get good MPG

I went from 3.42's to 4.10's and love them... the cruising RPM's have raised but around town I actually get better mileage even with my 3200 stall... you just have to be easy on it. If you are going from 3.42's I'd definitely go for the 4.10's... I have a set of Yukon 3.73's sitting here for sale too if you are interested... send me a PM

any particular reason why you are going from a 30" tall slick to a 28" DR?

I went to 4.10's from 3.42's and have never looked back. Around town the gas mileage went up due to my motor being in its happy spot. On the free way the drop in MPG is unnoticeable. Towing is much gooder. I would like a bit more gear but the next jump from 4.10's it 4.56's and that is too much. I would like something around 4.30 or so.

i've got the G80 w/3.73's in my truck and it does feel different stock compared to an exact same p/u with the 3.23's. 4.10's will be a significant difference especially if you're coming from anything under 3.23. Personally I wouldn't buy used gears. Your cruising RPM going from a 3.23-->4.10 is 1.269 times greater and from a 3.23-->3.73 is 1.155 times greater. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in theory if you cruise at 2000 RPMs going 70 mph (that's what my truck w/3.73's does) would really be about 1730 RPMs with 3.23's. I guess that if that theory is right then you would lose a decent bit of mileage going from 3.23's to 4.10's. Just depends on what you wanna do. 4.10's should give you a quicker jump outta the hole.

How tall of a tire are you running? Do you want mpg or do u just want it for the track? Do you tow? more info will help. Litreddevil, is there anything left on those slicks? Do you want to sell them?

edit: oh yah, and if you end up changing gears, i would suggest ditching the g80 and goin for a true lsd or a locker.
