Try clamping the front section of the springs this will stiffen them preventing spring wrap up which causes wheel hop.

I am thinking a heavier duty spring, better shocks.

Start off with spring clamps and if that doesn't work move on to a Cal-Trac-like system...

Yeah the spring clamps will help some but you won't be happy until you get some real traction bars. :judge:

With that much drop from the spring under your pinion angle is going to be all messed up. If you haven't changed it take a look at it. The pinion will probably be pointed slightly above horizontal. Pinion shims are cheap. Shim the leaf springs until your pinion angle is slightly below horizontal. That should help. I would imagine you get some driveline vibration at high speeds if you haven't fixed this already. My truck begins to get a slight vibration above 90 with just shackles and the overload removed. Traction bars definately cure the wheel hop, but cost a little more. I put a set of lakewood slapper bars on my truck for around $200. They are longer than normal and custom fit for my truck.

I will check my pinion angle later today. Whats the difference between Lakewood slapper bars and CalTracs? I know that cal tracs are $339.00 and the ones your are talking about are a lot cheaper. Do you have any pics, and will they work on my truck which has been lowered?

After I flipped my rear axle I got wheel hop from he77... a little pinion angle adjustment and some spring clamps for good measure and... no more wheel hop. Check your pinion angle out. Good luck.

Yeah, the pinion angle is def. off. Its pointing up. Where do you get shims to correct this? I was just jacking the truck up and checked tonight. Ive also got Cal-tracs im going to install. My problems should be fixed soon!

There are two different size shims. 4 and 2 degree. Which ones do i need with the flip kit?
Here's a pic I just snapped. Ive gone everywhere in town and cant find the damn tool i need to measure the angle.

WOW, Thats way off. That is definatly your problem right there, the Pinion angle needs to be pionting just a tad under horizontal like mentioned above.

Calvert Racing makes a set for flip kits and lowered applications. I got them installed yesterday. Also corrected my pinion angle. Wheel hop is all gone!
