My buddy just bought 6' 6.0L Powerstoke and needs help picking out a chip/programmer.

Who makes the best chip/programmer for 06' 6.0L Powerstoke Diesel?

I am looking for something with the most power while still being reliable.

I have used a Bullydog and SCT2(innovative diesel). I currently have the SCT2 installed. By a large margin I would recommend the SCT2 from Innovative Diesel. It not only will give the most power but it also will give you the most reliability specifically in terms of tranny life. The SCT2 gives a full tranny tune and make the trans shift like it has a shift kit.

Performance wise I've gotten a best of a 8.54 in the 1/8th. I just upgraded to their extreme race tune and am hoping for some 8.4s. That would be 13.3-13.4s in the 1/4. Only mods to my truck are the programmer and a 4" silverline turboback exhaust.

i am running a superchips programer in my 06 ps and it does really good. i picked it up really cheap too. i still need to do something with the intake and exhaust to get the most out of it.

yea either sct or edge would be the way to go we do tons of em and they seem to get the best feedback. not to mention i'm the sales/tech guy for our store and i don't really get any returns on those units. also we are a sct dealer and we offer custom dyno tunes for the fords.

Would like your opinion,there is a guy on the forums with the identical truck as mine and very similar mods/tune and he ran a high 14s at the time he had the simuliar mods.I was very surprised how it went down,now on the other hand this guy may have been the one surprised or disapointed in his truck if he was modded and he got me by a fender and door.He may have expected a lot more out of his.

the best programer for the 6.0 is the sct xcalabrator 2 i got one for my truck and it is awesome it spools quick and shifts great and i got it for 349.00 from pmtchips.com they have great prices on diesel parts check them out. The programer has 3 profiles up to 150 hp and 290 ft lbs and they send you a usb cable to update the programer if the truck gets reflashed i had issues with my superchips and had to send it back to get reflashed and then i sold the POS and got the SCT :drive:
