Good news...bad news...Advice needed

Took my truck to the dealer this morning to check out the rattle i had posted about last week. Turns out it is my cats rattling. They said they are covered under warranty BUT...i have modified exhaust.
Because i have true duals they cant just bolt up a new y pipe. All they would have to do is bolt up the y pipe to the manifolds and cut and weld to my current exhaust. But they just wont do it because they have to send the old one to the factory and they will ask questions. So what should i do??
This is a elementary drawing of my setup vs stock. The line shows where the exhaust shop cut. Does someone around here who put on LT's and ORY have their stock y pipe that i could take to my exhaust shop and have them weld where needed. Or should i just get long tubes and high flows and be done with it..? Thanks in advance..

being that you mention that you are in California, can you pass emissions with long tubes and relocated cats? I thought ya'lls emissions require that the cats be in the factory location? I could be wrong, but it would be a legit question to ask about before investing in a new setup. Long tubes would be the way to go if you can do it, otherwise I'm sure you could get your hands on someones used stock y-pipe cheap enough to just leave the whole warranty thing alone. One question, why did you go true duals anyway? I've allways been told that there is no gains to be had?

I am pretty sure i can pass a sniffer with LT's and putting the cats as close to the stock locations as possible. The visual may be the difficult part. One of my clients is a smog shop real close to me and i havent asked yet but i am almost positive he could say it all looks good. I think smog will come into effect in august 08.
When i went with duals i just wanted something that sounded different. I went with 2.25 pipe and havent had any ill effects. Sounds great and performs as good as expected. I may have spent a little more for my exhaust, (right around 400) but im extremely happy with what i got.
Someones stock Y pipe would be the most cost effective. Kinda depends what i run across in the next couple weeks. I have one more shot when the service manager returns from vacation next week..so we will see..

Arizona Speed & Marine make a set of long tubes that will keep cats in the stock location. I believe that is part of the visual criteria for California. By using the ASMs, you could get a factory y/cat assembly on your warranty and modify it to use with the rest of your system. The dealer should go for this since they wouldn't have to do the install but would get credit for the labor.
The down side to the ASMs is the price. They're higher than Pacesetters (but lower than the Supermaxx).
I have some photos of ASM LTs and Pacesetter LTs laid out together that illustrate the cat issue rather clearly. I can email or PM them to you if you're interested.

I offered the dealer to give me the Y pipe and ill take it to the exhaust shop and have them put it on. The manager in place of the real manager on vacation nixed that. Part of their problem is that they have to send my defective y pipe to the factory. When they see that it was cut the flags come up and American Chevrolet is on the spot. Thats how i understood it. So my only option is to wait until the Service manager is back from vacation and see if we can work something out. If i can find a used stock Y pipe i might just do that for low cost. If i get frustrated enough i may just get the Pacesetters with the ORY and say screw CA. Although that may not be very wise. I appreciate everyones input and ill just hope the cats dont clog until i make a decision.
