New 2006 QC Hemi owner...I have a few questions:

1). I'm debating on adding an aftermarket exhaust to it. A gentleman at my church owns a respectable exhaust shop close-by, and he quoted me $200 to have a flowmaster setup installed with the pipes coming out whatever way I want (I'm tempted to say, "Through the front bumper," to see what they say haha). Anywho, I've read in some posts that the sound after 4 cylinder's shut off sounds the equivalent to a Mitsubishi MightyMax. Is the sound <i> that</i> bad? AANNDD...

2). Does ANYONE make a lowering kit for the '06 Ram? I want to lower it 2" up front, and about 4-5" in the back. All I can find is the kits for the 02-04 model, and some '05s. Would an '05 kit work?

As far as I know the kits should work, I don't believe there are any changes in that area, just the MDS and the looks, but don't quote me on that. I have a Hotchkis 2/4 drop, I like it a lot, I had to shave an inch off the bumper stops because at full throttle any bump on the road and I'd start bouncing off of them. The leaf springs that come with the kit are lighter, really turning your half ton truck into a 1/4 ton, but that can be gained back by some air backs.

The performance shot where I get my truck work done, has an 06 QC 4x4 hemi, they put on a magnaflow exhaust to it, they say it sounds a little funny when it's in MDS mode, they didn't say it was bad sounding or anything, just a little different. I haven't heard it myself so I can't say.

the front end has coil over shocks, the 05 didn't

Belltech has a 2/5 drop. I took the main muffler off my wifes last week and just put a test pipe in and it sounded great....until the MDS kicked in lol. The stock muffler is back on because of this, my wife hated the gurgle type sound through the exhaust when the MDS is on(I dont care for it either).

my brother in law has an 05, and after driving my 2006 ram he said it's not even close, the 06 is waaay smoother, the steering is better, and the ride is much tighter overall......

this exhaust concern has an easy fix- ALWAYS keep the pedal burried! :D
