Tonight at Sac Raceway they had a special truck lane so instead of racing the Prius (the Z71 is being worked on), I took the RCSB 4.8L out to try for a new best since I had a feeling the air would be good.

The truck:

Mods:

Magnaflow muffler on stock piping
K&N air filter on stock piping
M/T ET Streets 28x11.5x16
Shift point and rev limiter tuning

Time:

60: 2.26
1/8th ET: 9.56
1/8th MPH: 75.16
1/4 ET: 14.78
1/4 MPH: 92.8

Ran a few 14.8s and a 14.9 at the end of the night after the DA started coming back up. Overall I am pretty happy with its performance for being a torqueless 4.8L and pretty stock. I have a little weight reduction but nothing crazy. Just removed the tailgate, has a rollpan, light weight wheels and no spare.

 

Those are great time for the mods. What are you shifting at... ? Just curous...

Its set to shift at 6200rpm. Im hitting 3rd kinda close to the traps but not enough to try and run it out in 2nd gear. I just forgot how bad 3rd gear is in the 60E. It feels like you just lifted off the throttle lol. My 80E's 3rd gear feels so much better.

 

I thought you sold that truck. That's about the best I could get out of my truck last weekend 90* and 8000+ DA SUCKS Even with boost

 

Havnt got around to selling it yet though I will

8000ft DA? Heat, humidity and elevation SUCK! lol

Yeah those are good times for a stock 4.8. I dont think we are going to have another good night like that in sac. I am going to talk to rick about a cam for my truck. Congrads on the times.
