Terrible experience with them so far. I ordered the thing on March 2nd. On the 10th i got a message from fedex for a shipment notification.
So far so good.
On the 15th I tried contacting Fuddle via voicemail- no response. On the 16th I left two voicemails- no response. I left an email also, that they did answer. It was a message stating that the converter was sent back to them as NON-deliverable. Bad packing I assume. I finally recieved the converter today the 22nd, 20 days after ordering the damn thing. I emailed thema couple days ago requesting my shipping money back, and still no reply. Today when i actually recieved the converter I was very disappointed to see the quality of the packing. Three holes in the box, NO packing material inside with the converter, and the converter was also missing one of the bolts. :bang:
Heres a picture of how I recieved the converter

Thats wierd. Not to bash your judgement but it seems that the box was beaten up in transit judging by the fact that the tape was peeled up. I talked to John on the Phone today and he was very polite and answered all of my questions. He said that my verter would be out for shipping at the end of this week.: eek2: I know they have been really busy here lately. Did you order the HP truck series. I hope everything goes well for you. ;)

I had some shipping issues too, but the box was fine when it arived. I agree with Beau (wait did I just say that) bout the shipping carrier being the responsible party, but good luck anyway.

Put the converter in tonight, I had to pull the tranny again after i installed it. The converter was locked up inside the crank. During shipping, the input housing got a little bit of damage and had some burs sticking out on it. I had to pull the tranny completly out again just to grind down some in the converter just to get it to fit :bang:

When you said the box was damaged in shipping, I offered to send a new converter and file a claim with FedEx. However, you said the converter was not damaged. If you have now found it was damaged in shipping, I will gladly get yout a new converter. I am sorry, but all I have heard from you is that the box was damaged. As I noted before, we double box the converters. We have sent these overseas many times, and generally, we have no problem with the packaging.

My experiences....customer service was top notch. John was great to talk to and helped out with all of my questions. What little I've gotten to experience with the product itself due to tranny problems, the converter feels great!!! Nice and loose like I like it. :) Feels 100x better than the TCI 3000 I had in there previously.
Only real grey area was the packaging for shipping. It wasn't real cushion for the converter, and I know how our UPS services can be with packages. My cap had come off and there was some cardboard debris in the converter I had to clean out. Not really a problem, by any means, but could stand to be alittle more protected from the men in brown.
Other than that, nothing but great experiences with Fuddle. Will be doing business with them again for a converter for the SS.

I used to work for a freight forwarding company that used Fedex as our major domestic vendor. They are without a doubt the worst shipping company out there speaking from experience. We lost several major international accounts due to similar situations as you described. Packages would be accounted for in excellent condition at our sorting facilities, but once they were handed to Fedex for final delivery there was usually a 50% chance of that shipment arriving like crap. I was in charge of claims so I got to see what they arrived at our stations looking like, and what they looked like when arriving to the delivery companies shipping department w/ fedex.

So the converter ships in just a box with no packing material? It seems it would be a simple matter to get some form-specific styrofoam to insure against poor handling.

Shredded paper, styrafoam peanuts or plastic air bubbles. Anything to take up the slack in the box should fix the issue. If you feel like waiting and removing the TC, get a new one just to be safe. Or maybe see if Fuddle will offer you a FREE refresh next time you drop the trans for any reason within the next 2 years. That way when you pull the trans you can get a good as new TC and some peace of mind.:)

My point is that someone who only ships one thing (hard drives, torque converters, etc.) should be able to design or find a shape-specific styrofoam mold that keeps the item protected. It makes sense. If you have to raise the price a couple of dollars, so be it.
Even if shipping a TC in a box rolling around loose doesn't hurt it, for the peace of mind of your customers, for crying out loud, just pack the damn thing with some care.

Anything loose as a packing material won't work with something as heavy as a TC. It will just settle away from the TC, leaving nothing between it and the box, which is what it appears happens from the pics that I saw.
The item specific styrofoam would be best with the TC wrapped in a plastic bag first to prevent contamination.

I would like to hear from some more people that order from fuddle... I am looking to purchase a verter on monday, just talked with Melissa through PM's today/this evening, and I'm just wondering if everyone is having a problem with packing materials or just a few here.
Normally, when i send a package, I spend a few more bucks or search around the house to get the proper package/packing materials so my stuff doesnt break, I know they ship out more stuff in a week than i have in my life time, so one would only imagine that fuddle has found some sort of packing material to keep the item safe since they ship out a large amount of items everyday, the converter is pretty heavy even w/o fluid, so it needs to be in there tight, bc i know those union workers at ups/fedex/dhl's just throw that shit around, lol.

my verter came protected and in good condition. as in new condition. i love the product. i love the customer service. no company has 100 percent cs.. ask yank. i know of a few of their former customers joing fuddles team. now does yank package a box with nuclear war intentions, i don't know. never bought one. but john @ fuddle will do you right. oh yea, didn't fuddle run yank off this website cause they were killing them with performance gains and sells. hmm, what does that tell bout the verter companies..

Hey I heard John was in the hospital...maybe that's why everything's been so hard to get in touch with him. If it's true I wish the best for him.

NOthing but great experiences with them I am on my third restall right now. None of my verters have arrived in that condition. John is a great guy. I heard he was in the hospital too, sounded serious, hopefully all is well.

No problems here either. Verter is excellent. I hope John gets better if he is in the hospital. Sometimes more difficult to get a hold of, but excellent to deal with once you have him on the phone. No regrets!

I was very pleased with my converter. When I opened the box there was no padding but I figured the converter was pretty solid so no big deal. I think it took 4 weeks to get my converter but it turned out great. :judge: Thumbs up to John and if he's in the hospital I hope everthings alright!
