Just thinking about it this morning, there are tons of guys who do 6.0L swaps into their 1/2 ton trucks, has anyone considered doing a Duramax swap into a 1/2 ton? Just asking for S&G's, I have no interest in doing it.

Look around for the Banks Road race truck.

This truck is a beast. I'm sure you are looking for a lower budget more reasonable install but look at the potential.

Eh I'm not looking at doing it, just wondering if anyone else has.

Looks cool :)

How about just buying a Reg Cab. Long Bed 6.6 D-Max and cutting the frame down relocating the axle and putting on a short bed? That would be easier! 4x4 would be kick ass too if you lower it!

I want the weight of the 1/2 ton with the 6.6/6spd.... :drive: as everyone knows, d-max's can be made to build some serious power for fairly easily.

I will soon be working on a d-max/allison swap into an 85 m1008 military chevy 1 ton pickup. Just gathering parts for now though.

Sounds cool. I think someone should try the Duramax/Allison swap into a NBS 1/2 ton instead of just doing a 6.0 swap
