has anyone towed a 24-30 foot enclosed trailer with a lifted duramax? i have a 6" lift for my 04 ECSB duramax and i am not sure how the truck will tow once the lift is on the truck. my trailer is a 28 foot enclosed car trailer that i haul my 81 camaro in to the track. once lifted the truck will have 20's and 35's. besides getting a custom drop hitch made with sway bar attachments in it i dont know what else to do to? any help is appreciated. im driving myself nuts trying to figure this out on my own. :eek2:

might wanna look into airbags and a drop hitch, maybe also a sway control for the rear leafs.

My buddy towed with his all the time. Until he sold the trailer. With no problems at all. Just had a decent drop hitch.

You should be fine. I have towed a 16ft enclosed trailer weighing roughly 6,000lbs with a F350 that had a 8"lift and 38s. It was just fine pulling at 75mph for a 500 mile trip. just get GOOD drop ball mount that will make the trailer set level.

That's no problem at all. I met a guy who towed his big ass, enclosed car trailer with a SuperDuty on 40s. Just add airbags.

who out there makes a good set of airbags then? i have seen various types in stylinconcepts, jegs, etc., etc. is there any particular kind that has a compressor that is mounted to the truck?

I prefer the Firestone with the optional ride control. Comes with compressor, gauges, & switches. If your truck is lifted, you will need to get airbag spacers. 4" lift=4" spacer to keep the bags from over extending during droop travel

does anyone know where i can buy a drop hitch that has hook ups for swaybars? or do i have to get 1 custom made?

Swaybars do not connect to the hitch. They run parallel to the rear axle and connect to the frame via end links. Are you refering to a load leveling hitch set-up?

you dont really need airbags!! i towed 2 cars on a trailer to the track and i have a 6" suspen. and a 3" body and im only a 1500 and have the weak 10 bolt rearend.....you have a diesel and a full floating 14 bolt rear end......you should tow that sucker with ease.......

Diff size isn't really the point. We all know a D-max and it's drivetrain is more than capable. The airbags are merely a suggestion to eliminate any sag to insure a safer towing experience.

They make them. You should be able to go to any local trailer place and be able to pick them up. I have run them b4...helps alot!

Just got back from a 200 mile trip with my uncle who has a 05 dmax lifted 6in on 35s. It ran 80 mph pulling a 6000 pound tralier with no problem. I have towed the same trailer with my old 01 z71 lifted 6in on 35 without a worry. Airbags are a good call though.

I pull a trailer fairly often with my ecsb duramax it has a fabtech 6in lift (with airbags) with weld 22 inch wheels and 35 inch nitto terra at's the trailer is a 24 foot inclosed car hauler. It pulls the trailer very well with no problems
