Where should my shift points be if my peak HP is @ 5800 and peak TQ @ 4700??
We did not adjust the shift points when I had the cam advanced so currently I am shifting at 6400 rpm.
How will this affect my 1/4? Should it be adjusted before I run again?

seems like everyone always goes about 500 rpm over the peak to keep them in the powerband after the shift. i say do a street tune and use the butt dyno for whatever feels best. 6500 would be my wild guess.

6100. You want to shift 300 past your peak power

me too...
1-2@6200
2-3@6000
3-4@5900 (if I have enough pavement :drive: )
I am having the tr220 or 224 debate myself right now... maybe a custom grind for the nitrous... :eyes:

you need to figure out first what your shift extension are with the converter. (how many rpms drop after each shift.) base those rpms by going off of your dyno sheet. i only spin mine 6400.

Where is the dyno graph? I would make sure that the hp doesnt fall off significantly after 5800rpm. I dont think it would.
Keeping your truck in first gear for as long as possible is going to help you because of the huge transition in ratios bewteen 1st and 2nd gear. Also, the 6500 rpm redline may help you stay in 2nd gear through your whole run which would also make for a better time in the 1/4.
I would try 1 run shifting at 6000 manually. Your truck would probably shift at 62-6300 with the shift extension from the converter.
Wish I could go bro. Good luck!

Shift points @ 6400, Red line is @ 6800 but i dont have an aux. tach so i only 'see' to 6000. I will try 1 run and hold 2nd. see if that helps. I cant see holding 1st gear past 6400 as it comes to quick.
Leaving work @ 2:30 so i should be there before 4:00!
