I was just wondering if there are any people here from Missouri. I'm looking at moving to the Branson, MO/ Mountain Home, AK area in a few months. Also, what are the laws like there? Emissions? Inspections? and so on.

there seems to be a lot of us in the lightning section

so far they do not test emissions in Mo. but they require emissions equipment on the vehical. they do check for a cat but it dosent need to be stock. no stickers allowd on the winshild there can be tint to the demarcation point on the windsheld (ms1 line?) im not sure how dark you can go now the laws have changed several times scence i last checked. most shops will not fail a car because of tint or stickers as long as you dont walk in and act like an @$$.

i have a frend that made a guy peel off the stock firehawk sticker on his firebird because of an attitude problem.

Thanks for the info. I hear there's a permit for dark tint? Pay the state like $7.50 and get what ever tint you want. So, they do a "visual"? You could have cats on, but have a pipe through it and they wouldn't know, huh?

They've been testing in St. Louis for a few years.

Cool, I think my folks are moving to Mountain Home. My dad wants me to move up there to help him with his business. I want to move to the Ozarks in Missouri. I'm working on getting my Masters and then get my own business rolling.

Well, looks like we're getting a house in Clever (sp?) Missouri outside of Nixa. It's a very small town, so hopefully no emissions.

unless your moving to stl there's no need to worry about emissions testing. i think legal tint is 35 for the front sides and any for the rest.

there might be some good news on the horizon for smog testing.

if you move to clever, theres a nice lil speed shop in Nixa that ive found to beat 90% of the online stores before shipping. Also, i work at a dealership and if your truck gets nixxed on inspections at a couple shops if your willing to drive a lil over 50 miles it will be passed :)

It's a great area to live in, a lot of business oppurtunities to be had and also a decent place for kids to grow up really (if you have any).

oh and also theres a decent tuner/street racing scene in Springfield.

Cool, it's people like you that make it so nice in Missouri. I've lived in the Houston area for a long time and people are WAY nicer in Missouri. I'm going to have to see what lies in the next month or so. I may be getting laid off due to lack of work right now. I also am going to lease the house here for a while and if doesn't work out, I can always come to Missouri. :)

Did you decide on anything? Mo is awesome as far as having a modded vehicle. Ive never had any problems.
