Well fortunatly I just hit the 500 mile mark today (yea, I have been driving it alot )
I was MMOB when I caught sight of a silver LS1 Camaro with pink flames (mods to Camaro - at least exhaust.....it sounded great, but all others unknown) He was flying up behind me, and I knew his intentions. Well he pulled up besides me at the stoplight I was waiting at, lined up with me, and glanced over at the SS. Neither of us gunned it when green showed, but once we hit about 25-30mph, he mashed it and had almost 3/4 - 1 full car length on me by the time I floored it. I just hit 503 miles, so I thought "screw it" and went with it and put the pedal down. Wow, this truck is nasty. This was the first up and go I've done with it, and I liked it alot! Back to the action; I walked him all the way from 30mph to 70mph when we shut down. When I shut down, I was 1 truck length ahead. Before I raced the guy, I fully expected a loss, but it did not turn out that way! I still cannot believe I walked a LS1 F body. Now, I am quite sure that he would have (or should I say better have) passed me up at 70mph +, but thats pushing the limit of street speeds for me and apparently him as well as we both shut down. He caught up to me and gave me the good ole' head nod and wave, and I returned the gesture.
Overall, I am quite please with this truck. It does not feel as fast as my GTO, but it definatly can push you back in the seat. Now back to easy driving for another 400-500 miles before an oil change, then all hell will be released! I thought I would give the SS a little taste of what shes gonna be experiencing for the rest of her driven life with me behind the wheel.
