I did a little bit of research on mating a transfer case to a T-56, there really is nothing out there right now, so you would be looking at big $$ for R&D.
The 5 speed might mate up to a transfer case, but I don't think you want to go that way. I don't believe the 5 speeds are made to hold up to much power.
There are a few 2wd guys (vanillagorilla, 1truess, and one other, I don't remember the name) that did swap in a T-56, but 4wd is a completely different story. I think that if you want a bulletproof tranny your best bet would be to go to a 4L80E. I think $5000 is pretty steep, I priced a decent one out before and came up with about $3500 for a kick-ass FLT 4L80E and the Speed Engineering conversion kit.

A stock 4l80e with a shift kit will hold that kind of power with no problem.
