They have different stages... like 1 thru 4 or something.
The lower stages aren't anything more than an appearance package and a couple of bolt on mods (exhaust, intake)
The higher end ones have blowers. Not sure of the exact specs, but they can be pretty quick for the size those F150 pigs are.
More info here

... not bad looking for a Ferd IMO.

ok well it had alot of appearance stuff on it, ground effects and had like a windshield visor on it. i think i am going to go look for him on monday and see if he wants some. i think if it was S/C i would have heard it, it would have sounded like a lightning right? the Ls have a nice sound under acceleration, he didnt have that.

Probably just the stage one then... nothing more than a body kit and 20" rims... I don't even think it gets an exhaust system.

Those Roush's aren't anything like the Lightnings...tq/hp are alomost the same but they don't run worth a :turd:. I bet my lil' 4.8 could take him on motor! :judge:

I believe those ratings are at the motor. I'd be amazed if they put down the same no's as a stock L.

Roush jumped on this deal with one thing in mind..........$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..........he knew that ford was not going to offer a "L" in the near future, so he jumped in it with good intentions, just didn't have all his stuff on hand he needed to get it to work! There is one here that runs HIGH 14s and if you ever met him, you'd laugh your nads off...........he looks at that roush decal like some term the HEMI. Nice looking truck, but no bingo when compared to a L. Go over to pickuptruck.com and look at the review mike magda did on it, he give it 5 stars, even when he could only turn a 15.xx in the 1/4.

One just came in the shop yesterday, it was a QC! Had "Roush" across the windshield and a pretty roush emblem next to the F-150 on the front quarter panels, looked good but as far as i'm concerned looks and 50 cents will get you a cup of coffee! Those 20" wheels wern't helping him much, either!

Ive already raced a 445 hp one. It was a good race, I walked into a Starbucks coffeshop and I noticed a Rousch F150 in the parking lot with the stickers still on the window. I was 100% sure a 445 hp one. I asked the guy if he wanted to race, he just smiled, He turned out to be the owner of the Ford dealership down the road. We both got on the interstate and with him infront of me coming off a on ramp up around 100ish I clearly started pulling him in but it was slowly. Had we both started at the same time Im sure I would have pulled slowly away.

Later I looked at this truck at the dealership it was a Rousch installed Eaton supercharger. It also had a exhaust and some other stuff on it as well. I think the only reason it was a close race is becasue It was from a 60 roll and he got the advantage of extra torque from the s/c.

I don't think they crack the internals on those motors, so if that's the case, they can't be running much boost thru them. I could be wrong, but I don't remember hearing anything about changin the comp ratio's and whatnot.

I would highly doubt it... doesn't seem like something Ford or Rousch would be willing to do. If it can't be bolted on or held on with tape I'm pretty sure they don't bother with it.

Well Roush maybe, but ya can't exactly say that about Ford. The L motor's are quite a bit different than a standard 5.4, internals wise anyway.

i second that, i heard the "forged or not" argument and still havent quite gotten all the details on it. all bulls#!t aside, the L performs excellent as a stock engine :judge:

Ford droped the ball big time by killing the Lightning off... I'm GM for life, but the L was the one truck that always made me think twice. Hopefully they bring it back someday.

Thanks for the L compliments guys. I know its hard from some of you Chevy guys to admit Ford had something with the L. I respect the LSx series engines, because we have one (in sig), so i have the best of both worlds. Anyway, our motors ARE NOT Forged. Never have, Never will be. Only the 03/04 Cobras got that lucky. We got stuck with some somewhat crappy rods, and pistons. Although, im pushing 14psi to em with no problems, so they arent horrible.

Nah bro, the rods are forged. They're not H-Beams by any means, but they are forged. "Powder Forged" is the term used I believe. I could be wrong. I've seen em apart, but I've never taken one apart myself, so....

+1, we also have forged pistons. Better rods would be nice though. :(

This is probably true. I see more of the Roush trucks than I do Lightnings around where I live. I do live about 25 miles from a Roush dealer though (Brandon Ford). This could be why.
