I've got two more weeks till I get my truck fixed. And it sucks. I've got one plug that's fucked, and I think I just fucked up another this week. And wouldn't ya know it? I've had a SS Camaro and a cammed GT Mustang challenge me in the last three days. My roomie just borrowed my truck and a guy in a WS6 wanted a piece of him. Thankfully he didn't run. Where were these guys awhile back, when she was running great?
Oh well, I'll change the plugs Sat. But, unfortunately, I'm gonna be putting on some other stuff that requires a tune, and that won't happen till the 18th. So I'll still have another week of babying the damn thing. I just wanna stomp it, but I don't think I'd like the results.
Two more weeks. Two more weeks...
Then the fun begins again.

I fucked up the first plug in the beginning of Dec. :bang: :bang:
Been goin easy on it ever since. One of those things where I didn't have the time, then the holidays, and now with the tune session coming up, I've just been putting it off. Tell ya what tho.
The day after I get tuned, you better believe I'm gonna go find those three. I'm pretty sure they're all local, the only exception being the SS. Haven't seen him too often, so who knows.

Maybe after I see results I'll post em up, but for right now, I'm not gonna say, because if I'm not happy with them, rest assured they'll be changin, quickly. I'll be right around you to start tho.
Two more weeks..

Yeah but I'd rather throw a plug than a rod.lol I heard 04s have weaker rods.

No. They all have the same shit rods. The 03's and 04's had I believe 8 threads for the spark plugs vs 4 threads for the previous years. We're all in the same bucket of suck when it comes to the rods.

There is marginality due to the lack of threads, but IMHO detonation rattles them loose and then they blow out. Again, there is marginality with the 4 threads. Installing plugs when the heads are warm or hot, and detonation is very possible on a stock motor with increased air flow and/or if one uses crappy gas or has clogged fuel filter. Again this is all IMHO, but aluminum heads must be stone cold before installing plugs, if not the aluminum head shrinks and the plugs are automatically loose.

I thought somebody off NLOC posted something like Ford used one company for the rods until late 01 then switched to another company or something along those lines.

As far as I know, they're all still the same design.

Something like that.
It was a supporting vendor. I believe he stated the rods out of the 99-00 were marginally different than the 01-02. He had pulled both and noticed differences. It was subtle, but theorized that was the reason for so few blown 99-00 L's.

Oh ok I could have sworn it had to do w/ 2 different companies being used.
