NoChrome 02-24-2006, 02:29 AM you can use stock 1500 (non HD) keys to level it out, or just crank the shit out of the stock ones, it was good enough for me to run 33's. This one is photoshopped (MS Paint) but my tbars have about 4 turns on them here, this is before the 33's and there not maxed out either. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d74/NoChrome/PaintContest.jpg 02sierraz71_5.3 02-24-2006, 11:49 AM Have you used the ford keys on the HD trucks? samdogmx 02-24-2006, 11:57 AM you only use the ford keys on the 1/2 ton trucks, You (HD trucks) need the GM green keys, witch are the stock keys from the 1/2 ton trucks. 02sierraz71_5.3 02-24-2006, 12:28 PM you only use the ford keys on the 1/2 ton trucks, You (HD trucks) need the GM green keys, witch are the stock keys from the 1/2 ton trucks. nochrome is saying he used the stock 1500 keys on an HD? NoChrome 02-24-2006, 01:37 PM No i didnt use anything, thats stock with some adjustment. The keys are indexed. Meaning they have a Hex pattern inside the key, and the how the hex pattern is cast into the keys determines the index. 2500/1500HD have the LEAST indexing 1500's have a moderate amount f150's have the most extream mount of indexing. Ford keys will not fit our trucks because of the preload required to install them is just too much. samdogmx 02-24-2006, 03:30 PM yeah so if you want to level out an HD you need to use the 1500 keys. NoChrome 02-24-2006, 03:42 PM Here you go, 33's with stock keys maxed out. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d74/NoChrome/100_0380_edited.jpg 02sierraz71_5.3 02-24-2006, 04:52 PM Ok so the green keys are the stock 1500 indexed keys and they will level a 1500HD? NoChrome 02-24-2006, 04:56 PM Yes.. samdogmx 02-24-2006, 05:21 PM Ok so the green keys are the stock 1500 indexed keys and they will level a 1500HD? yep :thumb: I have a pair i just took off in favor of ford keys, if your intrested.... 01ws6450hp 03-26-2006, 11:11 AM I have a 2004 two wheel drive 2500 (not the HD). I bought the HD leveling keys for my dad's 2004 HD 4x4 but he decided he was not going to lift it. I took the keys to a shop to have them put on my truck and with out even looking at it they told me that it would wear my ball joints out. Does this shop not know what they are talking about? I work out of my truck and drive between 5,000 and 7,000 miles a month so I don't want to have to make constant repairs to the front end, but I don't like the way the single cab long bed looks stock. Any info would be appriciated. NoChrome 03-26-2006, 11:18 AM Rumor has it it will wear stuff out sooner, mines been this way for 6 months and I play hard with it, and no problems. 01ws6450hp 03-26-2006, 09:49 PM Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to go ahead and raise it. If something breaks I will just have to drive the T/A (as bad as I hate to lol). Work will have to buy me a company truck or raise the wages because if something breaks that is not an easy fix, it will just be more reason for me to mod it right. The Trans Am is what has the mods so far. Mods to the truck are coming soon. |
