Default desplacent on demand programing

Since gas prices are going up amost every day i was thinking if it would be possible to add DOD to my truck. I've done some research and i found out some new V8 cars have it and the new 07 trucks will have DOD too. So is there any way to reprogram my ECM or i need to wait until 07 or 08 https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=357256 and get a 07 truck computer?

ive been looking into this too... im thinking it may be possible. I know its possible to just shut off the dod on the 07 computers... so why not use an 07 computer on the 03-05 trucks?

There might be provisions for extra pins on that comp, but unless DOD has the extra hardware like mentioned, I dont see it being a problem. Of course i'm sure it could be done adding the extra whatever hardware and harness extentions.

Any other misc. codes the computer throws could be shut off.

There is indeed mechanical differences betwen the DOD and nonDOD engines. teh lifters keep the exhaist valves open when DOD is activated to reduce pumping losses.

Nice try guys.

From what I read, its the opposite. The valves are shut when DOD is engaged.
