Just purchased an 03 z71 RCSB to go along with my 2000 SS Camaro.

It was slightly used, and the factory rims were gone. The dealer said the truck arrived to them with these style wheels on it which look like they are from a 2003 tahoe. I actually like this style wheel better than the factory silverrado rim.

My question is what is the largest tire, width and height wise I can stick underneath the truck?

Discount tire direct shows a 285/75/16 is a possible choice, just wondering if they would be a good idea to try under the truck? If not if you could give me an approx size of something good that I can try under the stock suspension. And also if you could recommend a nice performing, agressive looking offroad tire that isn't going to break my budget when it comes time for tires.

Also, I am possibly looking for a set of black rims with a silver lip. I have black zr1 style rims on my camaro, and would like something similar to match on the truck. Preferably in a 16/17 inch size. If you could recommend anything similar with a good tire combo that would look good with the stock height on the truck please do. I am new to the truck world and any help is MUCH appreciated.

I have had 285/75-16's on mine for 3 years, never rubbed or anything, been rompin with them a few times. Yokohama Geolandar A/T's, not so much an off-road tire specifically, but if you're looking for a good all-terrain I have had good luck with them, and they don't hum or anything. They also had a 50K mile pro-rated warranty from Discount Tire which I will probably be cashing in pretty soon (mine have about 30K miles and are almost due to be replaced, but I don't drive nice :devil:)

To start off, those wheels are off a 2wd tahoe or suburban they put them on for a few years. You can def put LT285/75r16 on the truck with out doing anyting with stock wheels.

Yea to be honest I am not exactly sure why those wheels are on the truck. Unless the previous owner just prefered their look. Truck is so clean everywhere else.

Any downside to having them on the truck? Size wise? Those tires I want to fit will work just fine no?

I want to say they are the same width as the 4wd verson but not sure. The 285s will fit just fine on stock wheels
