Default Predator question: Can it be used on another truck?

I have a Diablo Predator for a 2003 5.3. I've sold my truck and put the stock tune back in it. I want to sell my Predator.... Will this work for someone else or do I have to send it in or download something to make it work with another VIN.... (Vehicle) Thanks in advance - Al (al54868 at yahoo.com)

It should work just fine, as long as you put the stock tune back in your truck before you sell it.

It depends on what version of software is in it. Until this year they were VIN locked. Diablo will unlock one for $75. I bought mine used and sent it off to have it unlocked. From what I understand the latest version (with in the last few months) doesn't have to be unlocked if the original program is returned to the truck.

They are year specific even unlocked it can only be used on another '03.

for 2003 the very early Predators didn't, the newer one's will. when you reloaded the stock settings the screen should have flashed a message at the end stating that the VIN lock has been released or something to that effect. I had one and sold it, new user is using it without problems.

Interesting, I didn't know the new ones would tell you that they are unlocked.
