Default Seeking advice on GM accessories for my 06

I just got my Vortec Max a few days ago and I am wanting to buy a few things to keep it looking good.

I am interested in the fender flares that come on the Z71's. I would like to know if they rub the paint off where they make contact. I would like to add these to protect the lip around the wheel well from getting chipped by gravel.

I am also interested in a set of bed rail protectors. Does anyone have a photo of the GM protectors that have pop out stake holes?

I am looking at the front bug shield that comes in red color. Does anyone have this? Does it match a Victory Red truck?

Could someone who has the GM bed mat tell me about the quality and thickness?

One more, who has the underseat storage for the extended cab? Is it worth the 300 bucks?

Mike

Congrats on the purchase... i love my max.

I had fender flares on my 03 silverado for 3 years and it never rubbed the paint off. i too am looking to get a set for my truck.

I got bedrail protectors on my truck when i bought it and i will never own another truck without them. my only gripe with them is that they actually cut holes in the top of the rails and use push pins to put them on.

As far as a bedmat goes, i am just gonna have my bed sprayed to keep everything protected.

The underseat storage is a ok thing. my dad has one and it is nice, i can't really decide if i would want it in my truck though.

I got mine for a lot less. It's called DU-HA. The quality is real good and it doesnt interfere with people sitting in the back. Click here DUHA

I saw the DU-HA. It is a lot less. I like that I can get it in a medium grey to match my interior. The DU-HA does not have a lid - I have not decided if that is good or bad.

Anyone have the GM box? Are there pros/cons to it?

Thanks for the replies so far. Does anyone have the red bug deflector?

I bought the bed mat and it's perfect.
Came with rail covers, didn't yours?
IMHO the fender flares will look FUGLY on your red truck, especially if you don't swap into awheel with neg backspace to push out the tires. .02
Never seen the bug deflector in red, you could have a black one painted anyway. I'm having that clear tape added to the front of the hood instead. I was going to do a bug deflector until I held it up and said No. The HD hood looks better without it, again IMO.

PIX PIX! The VR must be awesome!

I will get the bed mat. It sounds like a nice item.

No - mine did not come with bed rail protectors. I did not order them. The dealer talked me out of those and the underseat storage because he said it might hold up production. I still want to add them however.

I ordered the LT3 trim with skid plates and spare tire lock, no other options.

I also think that the flares won't look quite as nice as without them, but I want them to protect the paint. I pull a camp trailer quite a bit in the summer and go down quite a few gravel roads. I think the flares will help the paint stay nice. I found part numbers for Victory Red flares, but they are for 03-04 trucks. I think they will fit mine, but I will have to check.

As for the bug shield, again I am looking to preserve the paint even if I sacrifice looks a bit.

Thanks for all your input. I would still like to hear from someone who has underseat storage and the red bug shield. And a pic of the bed rail protectors with the pop out stake pockets would help.

Thanks again.
