I locked myself out of my truck and my other set of keys is in my house in another state. Can I call the dealer and get another key for the door?

I don't know about your area but cops can do it, they might charge like $20 but they'll do it.

Smash the window!!!

If you have onstar, you could call them and i think they may be able to unlock it for you. At least ive heard of that before. If not, id just call a cop or someone else with a slim jim and have them do it for you. I slim jim cars all the time here at work. Its not bad at all. You just gotta know what your doing.

Heard those stories about the fob being held next to the door as someone else hits the fob on the other end of the phone.... Do a Myth Buster for us

The dealer will do it but you have to show something that proves it is your ride. No paper, no key.

Good Luck

Just call your local locksmith place. The cops around here won't jimmy any vehicle due to people sueing them for broken windows.

I've tried this just for fun. I was at home and the wife was at the mall (25miles). Nothing happened. I tried her car and then she tried my truck. No luck

If you can get something that proves you own the car, like a insurance bill, the dealer will make you a key right there. $8

The dealer can make you a new key without the original as long as you have not replaced any locks. I had to get a key when I was on a road trip (lockey my only key in the truck) and the dealer was a big time ***, he wanted to see my insurance card, proof of ownership, and drivers license. I told him "that would be no problem if I did not lock my keys in my truck," had to Pop-A-Lock so I could get my license, regristration, and insurance, then I got a key made. I think that dealer charged me around $20 for the key, $12 more than at the dealer I use.

All what the dealer needs to make a new key is the VIN number.

Yeah the guys at the ford place are bitches about ownership and gettin keys made, i had to get my g/f a key made for her escort, but i my boss had a 00 silverado, all i did was call em up, gave em the VIN, and ran down there and got it for em, and then preceded to do the same thing w/my friends S-10 w/o him knowing it, pulled his truck around the back of where we worked and when we got off work that day he about **** his self when he couldn't find his truck. I told him and gave him the key and he then covered up the VIN in every vehicle in his yard
