Default LS6 243 heads on an LQ4

Friend has a set of worked LS6 heads. They are ported, valve job, unmilled, Comp 921's, titanium retainers... Hes looking to sell them. Hes dumb and I was gonna offer him an absurdly low amount of money for them. Im not too familiar with the LS6 heads other than the 317 were modeled after them. Was gonna see what you guys thought. The smaller 66cc chamber will bring my CR up a bit. Be worth the swap??

Happen to know who did the port work on them?
To me, that could possibly make/break my decision if it was on my combo.

Company have good or bad rep?
You could take some pics and send them off to a company who does good work... Ask for their assessment.

Up to you, I just wouldn't waste my time on a crappy port job.

No, good rep on teh guy. Seen his heads on many ocassions and they perform very very well. I know 2-3 guys locally that have them on LS1's and are very pleased witht he outocmes. Im still throwing the idea of WCCH's around. Just thinking out loud.

LS6 heads have a ~64cc chamber....it'll take CR to ~10.6:1, also the stock valves in the 243 heads require a different length pushrod to correct valvetrain geometry when used with a non-LS6 cam, this can be corrected by swapping over to the valves you have in the truck now.

If this is the case, you might as well buy 'em off your buddy. Especially since your getting a good deal and if there are any problems, the company is right there locally.

Seems legit to me. Don't you think?
