I am still undecided on which year SS I will be getting, but I will be getting one very soon to tow my Procharged GTO which will soon have a 408 as well looking for 700+rwhp!
Most likely going to be an 03 or 04 Silverado if I can find one for a decent price with less than 30k miles!
Anyways which blower do you guys recomend for a daily driver/tow vehicle? The SS will probably only get a Blower/Exhaust/Trq Converter. I am not looking to make tons of power or anything crazy with this setup! I live in Florida where it is hot 95% of the time. I just want something very reliable that will make me more power. I am thinking I want something like the Whipple/Maggie/Radix.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Radix is the best all around blower for a ss. I would also do some tranny up grades.

i saw some dude locally with a ss and a supercharger i've never heard of. he claimed it came from GM as an upgrade. The truck was damn fast. Not as fast as me, but fast. 13.5ish

I would get an ATI before Vortech... sorry man! My ATI on the GTO looks much better and ATIs have put down better numbers than the Vortech on the GTOs. And of course I am biased! But like I said I want the low end on the truck...the GTO has enough grunt for me to get around and out run most other vehicles!

If you are looking for RELIABLE power, you can't beat a Radix, hands down. also, the easiest to install as well. although, ATI and vortech both are very good too.

The limited mods you are running is very similar to what I am looking to do with the truck! Do you have any videos or pictures of the car/setup!?

IMO, if you're going to be towing like you stated I would stay N/A or go turbo. The Radix is the best choice for torque down low but as a constant tow vehicle I wouldn't think it's the best choice. Since you didn't state how often you'll be towing I may be overshooting, but a small turbo kit would be your best bet to stay FI. All kits can easily be upgraded once you're comfortable with where you're at.
Now if you want a sport truck, hands down Radix is the easiest install and great power. AZFASTESTSS has gotten the Vortech to do amazing things. You may want to ask him before you shoot down that option so fast.

Radix, PCM tune, and CAI w/ exhaust. I am assuming towing wont be an everyday thing being that you want a TQ converter. I would do a TB stall or something in the 3K range. Good luck on finding your truck.

Rotrex. You will need to do some tuning, but I expect there to be similar times w/well tuned kits...check it out at W2W powertrains webpage.

Take a look at the VPS version of the RADIX kit. It is specially tuned for lower boost, but provides a GM/Gibbs developed trans tuning and all the parts to upgrade the tranny for reliability. If the truck is less than a year old and has less than 12,000 miles, the kit can be covered by a full 36,000 mile OEM grade warranty (one without all the "gotchas").
VPS is the successor company to Joe Gibbs Performance that is selling the JGP developed performance upgrades along with some new stuff to suplement it.
Order the kit with the intercooler if you plan to tow as indicated. Should give you what you want.

Do you have a link where I can find the info on this setup!? I will probably end up buying a new SS and if I do I would definately do this within 12k miles especially since it will be my tower/daily driver... I would like to have a warranty for once. The last 3 cars I bought were all new, and haven't had a warranty last longer than 6months. The GTO has a hard time getting things like the seat looked at due to my mods!

PM me if you would like to know more on my truck or need pics. Actually, you can shoot over to silveradoss.com and you should find lots of pics on my setup. My sig here does not list all my mods btw.

If you are looking to have daily driven reliability and be able to tow without worry, The MagnaCharger Radix is your only choice.

A roots style blower will give you the best around town performance and great off the line torque for towing. Its true a centrifugel blower such as a Procharger or Vortech with make more peak power but from a towing aspect you want down low torque, your not gonna be spinning the motor to 5000+ rpms all that often.
I personally wouldnt put another other supercharger than a procharger on a car but when it comes to a truck unless the best 1/4 time is your goal a roots style blower such as a Magnacharger would suit your needs the best.

i'd recomend the radix. it's the one blower that will get you quick off the line power and not require alot of stall to do it. the factory converter alone with tuning will get you 1.9 60's and a mild stall will get you into 1.7's with a pulley change and some tuning. a centrifugal will require around a 3000 stall or more to get near the off the line performance of the radix. if big future mods are planned you may want to look into something that is upgradable (my word) such as a procharger or vortech.
