Does anyone know what the drag coefficient is on the 03+ ram and how does that compare to the current gen chevy and F150? I am just curious to see which of the big 3 has the truck best shaped like a house. :P

The SRT folks did a bunch of wind tunnel testing and mods ( diffuser in the front grill, front chin spoiler, etc ) to reach the 150mph track speeds. Well, that and the Viper V10 motor! My first guess is that the Dodge is slightly better than the Chibby but not as slippery as the Furd. Ram4Pick 12-13-2005, 11:01 AM Drag coefficient = rolling brick! Jim Toe 12-13-2005, 11:33 AM Drag coefficient = rolling brick! Jim Haha no kidding. :D Cool Ktm, I'll head over to the srt10 forums and check it out. MrDestinE 12-13-2005, 03:40 PM Let us know what you find, I had all the info on the 2nd gen Rams.... can't even find that now.. But I have never seen any on the 3rd Gen... I would hope that it is better than the 2nd gen. TJ treyZ28 12-14-2005, 12:43 PM I seriously doubt there is much difference. the ram is probobly hurting more in aero because of its HUGE frontal area Toe 12-14-2005, 02:29 PM Here we go for the SRT-10. Drag Coefficient:0.43 Frontal Area:35.8 treyZ28 12-14-2005, 02:56 PM that is high. trailblazer (non SS) is .39 Toe 12-14-2005, 03:48 PM Ok for the 97-03 F-150 the Drag Co is 0.45. I imagine a regular ram with the regular bumper would be around that too. Not sure what the new F-150's are, and the Lightning is probably a little less then the regular F-150. |
