i wont show you my first couple of trys but my 3rd(right) 4th(center) and 5th(left) trys are starting to look ok.

now i need to try welding a tube to a flange and try and do up a t fitting.

then try aluminum.... again

Jim what kind of machine did you buy? I am thinking of getting one also cause I am going back to the circle track game this year. I can mig and I would like to add a nice tig machine to the shop, looking good for your first time.

it is a lincoln precision 185, i really like it. i have a cheap mig and it works ok but i can't make anything nice looking with it like that weld on the left.

looks real good i did that 4 11 years. just rember u don't need to press hard on the cup just weave.

I relate mig welding to using a hot glue gun, pull the trigger and slop away...
now you can build your own headers Jim....have to start sellin turbo kits.

I always like tig welding it was cleaner and quieter then mig.

Dad and I have that same welder. I really love it. We set it up for water cooling and the torch is real cool now. Unlike the air coooled stocker.

Those beads look good., have fun with the aluminum!
