This is the ideal heat exchanger upgrade which consists of a very large Fluidyne H/E unit and two Perma-Cool fans that bolt right onto the H/E core. I purchased all of the pieces new, and except for a few bent fins on the Fluidyne unit (be careful when test fitting!), all components are as new.
The H/E dimensions are: 25-3/8" Long x 3-1/2" Deep x 8-1/4" High. The depth of the heat exchanger element itself is 3-1/2". The connectors stick out another inch, and there is a flat mounting plate on the bottom with 5 holes that also sticks out an inch, making the depth 4-1/2" in some places. This is a direct bolt-in for Lightning owners.
The fans are "pull" type fans and mount behind the heat exchanger, keeping them away from debris and the elements. You can wire in relays to make the fans come on at a certain temp, or you can wire the fans to be on all the time, it is up to you. With the fans running 100% of the time you will likely be able to run more timing than you would if you only had a passive heat exchanger.
I prefer to sell all pieces together, but if after a week they do not sell together, I will consider selling them separately. Personally, if you're going to do the upgrade, it makes sense to do it all at once.
New pricing for each of the pieces is as follows:
Perma-Cool Fans: $65.88 x 2 = $131.76
Fluidyne H/E FHP30-LIGHTNING = $449.00
----------------------------------------
TOTAL OF UNITS = $580.76
I am giving Performance Trucks members a chance to pick these units up before I put them up on EBay this Sunday. I will let all items go for $475 shipped. That's like getting the fans almost for free.
