Default Anybody running an Electric Water Pump?

I see that there are electric water pumps available that appear to pump enough to be effective on the street.

Anybody using one and what's your experience been? They say that changing to an electric fan nets maybe 15 hp so what's the hp/torque gain from making the switch to an electric water pump? Worth the $$$$????

I haven't seen any recently. In fact, the only trucks I've heard of running one have been preyyt heavily modded. No one that I know of have used it for a bolt-on mod.

i'd stay away if you are just going to be a bolt on truck. when you get serious and make a track only truck and are looking for that last little bit then go for it.

I think the Mezeire pumps only last like 1000hours. That's a lifetime for a drag truck or a weekend toy, but if you're driving this daily, I agree with the others.

An alternative is putting an electric drive on it. You still rely on an electric motor, but it's cheaper and easier to replace.

isn't there a point where the pump can only flow so much. Like a certain engine RPM where the pump is basically no longer flowing more with increased rpm. Seems to me a constant flow at a constant speed would be pretty benifical. They do make kits as metioned above to put an electric motor on your pump, but Iv only seen them on drag cars with little to no other engine driven accesories. probably due to the fact of how much space a kit like that requires. Id stick with the stocker and go e-fans, if you havent allready...

if you wanted to cool your engine off at the track, couldnt you leave it running along with the E fans and cool it off better?

I run a Evans waterpump with waterless coolant. The Evans pump has a smaller pulley to eliminate high speed coolant captivation and a improved impeller to keep thing cool at lower speeds.I would not even consider an electric waterpump on the street.
