ive got a 96 Silverado w/ 5.7 vortec and 4L-60E
mods include 4.10 gears, underdrive pulleys, removed honeycomb from MAF, K&N w/ modified stock air box, jet TB spacer, flowmaster exhaust, hypertech programmer

neway i took my truck to the strip the other nite for my first time and it didn't do as good as i expected... i did my burnout and lined up.
it would launch excellent for the first 30-40 feet than it would stall for a a split second and than go again. this was all in 1st gear. i cannot tell whether it slipped outta gear or not. i had the tranny apart bout 5K ago and everything looked great. i need more tech advice... any ideas???

How much fuel was there in the tank? I find that when I have less than 1/4 tankful, and I launch hard, it runs good then coughs for a split second then continues on. I am wondering if its the fuel sloshing away from the pumps pickup??

take care

Does this happen to you NBS(new body style) guys too??? The fuel tank slosh that is.

Its really violent, I would hate for that to happen in a blown or nitroused truck, can you say "lean condition".

man the only time my truck does the sputter step is when I drive it like a drift car on very low fuel.... never on just a hard launch... I guess that means I'm not launching hard enough...LOL!!!!
