I dyno'd my truck friday with the new nitrous kit, but I only made 380hp/470tq with the 125 jets. My bottle heater was broken, and I have a nitrous leak at the bottle, so my bottle pressure started at only 800psi and steadily dropped throughout the dyno pull. My air/fuel was all the way down to 10.5 by the end of the run. Do you think I was running WAY rich because of the low bottle pressure?? I fixed the heater and the leak, so I will go back to the dyno this week to see how much my numbers will improve. I also made that pull on my 22's, so I know those aren't helping my numbers any.

bottle pressure will affect hp ratings. i know if my pressure isn't up to my liking i can tell a difference in power output when i hit the switch. heavy wheels will take more power to turn as well. so you could easily have over 400 to the rears.

I know the low pressure caused me to lose some power, but will it cause my truck to run WAY rich?? I have the leak and bottle heater fixed now, but I dont have the money to dyno again right now. I think I am also going to drop my fuel jet from a 34 to a 31. Right now I am running 54N/34F.

Yes having low bottle pressure will make it run rich. Think about it if you arent spraying the right amount of nitrous in there but you are still spraying the right amount of fuel your nitrous to fuel ratio is out of whack. Once you get the leak fixed and are spraying at around 1050 psi then you will be right on. FYI I always run my fuel jet one pill higher than what is recommended you get a little less power but you are running it much safer. I killed my 5.3 with nitrous but I had 168,000 miles on it so I think that was my problem, or some residual crap in the cylinders that didnt get cleaned out when I pulled the heads. Either way get the pressure up to about 1000psi and you should see the right results. You will feel it in the SOTP meter too.

Thats what I assumed. I am currently running the 54N/34F jets, but I have been told that those jets are set rich anyway. Many of the other dodge guys are actually running 54N/31F for a 125 shot, and they said that their air/fuel was still in a safe zone. I might try the 31F jet next time I dyno, but I will do it with the 34F jet first to see where I am at now with the correct bottle pressure.

The smaller the fuel pill generally the more power you will make due to leanign it out but as we all know leanign it too far and it will go BOOM. I owudl say you are pretty safe witha 31F.

That is why I want to test the 34F first. If it looks like I still have some room to play, then I will drop to the 31F. I have a 4" intake, Longtube headers, and an exhaust cutout right off my y-pipe, so I need to make sure I dont go too lean on the nitrous pills because I am lean enough with the mods I listed above.

That is true the tailpipe wideband will tell all.

I actually mount the sensor in my cutout because I always run with the cutout open. I will get an innacurate reading if I put it in the tailpipe with the open cutout.
