Shorties=factory manifolds, no to little power gains, and wasted money!
Long Tubes=more HP & TQ!
Spend the extra flo on a set of Dynatec long tubes with or with out cats.
They are a direct bolt on kit. No welding required. Emission legal (if you opt for the system w/ high flow cats).

I know, I know.. long tubes are the best answer. But I've already got custom cat pipes and I like how the truck sounds now... so 1 3/4" shorties would do me fine

I think he decided to keep the stock manifolds.

Her ya go: http://www.bbtriflo.com/New/auto-flash.asp?page=h2.html

I am told that the B&Bs are 1 3/4"

Bassani aren't shorties and are only 1 1/2". They state that their headers were designed for stock applications. For my app the tubes are fairly straight and don't appear to be equal length.

I have been researching headers for a while and still am not certain what is the best way to go with the Radix. JBA(1 5/8') claims the same gains as long tubes with a blower.

I just read an article online where an outfit tested various length short tube headers on a FI four cylinder. (Thought I saved the link but now I can't find it.) The shorter the tubes of the shorties the more power it made. They were equal length though. So now I am thinking that if shorter is that much better than short, then how balanced is your system when the short tubes are unequal length(they can vary from 6 to 20 inches on the same header). That is, the shorter you get, the more important the variance in tube lengths between the cylinders should become. Maybe a larger diameter shorty will help to offset this difference in tube lengths.

Are longer tubes as beneficial to FI as they are to NA? Or does tube length become a restriction at some point? Does it depend on your cam? Will your setup behave more like NA on the exhaust side if you have minimal overlap?
If I don't select the optimal header design for my app, how much difference does it really make? Are the headers irrelevant in comparison to the restriction of the cats?

Too many questions. Still looking for data. It would be nice to see some before/after dyno sheets for shorties on a supercharged vehicle.

The Info Bassani sent me was for 5.3L apps. Maybe their 6.0 headers are
1 3/4". The document they sent shows the straighter headers shown in the pic to the left on the page which you have referenced.

They were very honest in stating: "These headers were proto typed on the stock engine. I don't know how they will work with a super charger. We have never tried that. The primaries are 1 1/2"."

BTW how did the SW headers work out? I like the ease of installation and the ORY/convertibilty option.
