My engine in my 95 s10 is about to blow. Its a 2.2 L 4 cyl, I was wondering if it possible to drop a 2.2 4 cyl engine in the truck that is from a 98 or above s10 without having to change the transmission. PLease help with any information that you can provide. Thanks

i don't foresee that being a problem...the bell housing should be the same...there weren't many changes in the engine...the only thing that might make a differency is what trans. that particular engine was set up for as opposed to what you may have...but even that shouldn't be too much of an issue

on board diagnostics, yes, could potentially be a problem as 95 was just around the time GM made the transition from the TECH I to the TECH II handheld diagnostic device. Therefore check to see how many prongs there are on the OBD port @ the knee bolster and get back to me.
