Something that you might want to consider is to get a timing tuner, with this you can run full N/A timing all the time and then when you spray you can adjust it to pull timing out.

The timing tuner that I am looking at purchasing is about $250 which I think is well worth it because from what I understand it also has a built in window switch. Just something to think about

i was shooting a 150 and a 175 shot on my old 5.3. i was running 30* timing as well. i used the timing tuner at one time. man did it pull timing. it does work and work well. make sure all your connections are perfect. i ended up taking it off. i ran tr55ix iridium plugs with msd wires. a missfire and you are going to be toast. do you run a fuel pressure gauge?

Yes it will work fine with your tune, it installs inline with your crankshaft position sensor to alter the timing. I don't even have one yet but it seems to be a damn good product, the f-body guys over on ls1tech that have the timing tuner seem to really like it.

If you haven't done it yet go over to tbyrne's website and read up on it.

Timing tuner? No thanks. I run 24* for a 150 shot and check it w/ the scanner to adjust it. A/F is real important, you can run leaner w/ less timing and that's where the power is at.
