Here is my new SSR which is at Magnuson Products with Brian right now getting the Polished Radix installed. I cannt wait to see how this turns out, the LS2 is already a very strong engine at 390HP/400TQ. They will be doing a before and after dyno run with it. I will have to find a drag strip close by now that Carlsbad Dragway is gone to the developers (3 miles from my house). Here are a few pictures of it before I dropped it off.

I just dropped it off friday. I should have it back in 10 days, I am on the edge of my seat. Maybe Brian can chime in. They say the 6 speed LS2 SSR's will do 0-60 in 5.2 and the 1/4 in 13.89 stock. I am real interested in what it dynos at before the Radix install. They said it is on the dyno right now. :drive:

What were the dyno numbers?I'm guessing 455rwhp or more. What pulley did they go with?I'm guessing they went conservative with a 3.4",and that a good set of headers and a 3"pulley will put you over 500rwhp.

Take a look at these dyno sheets from Lingenfelter for the LS2 and Magnuson. These are at the flywheel but they look great, I want 560 HP at the crank. This is on a stock LS2 that they require a 160 degree T-Stat.
http://www.lingenfelter.com/c6magdyno.htm
whitt1
10-09-2005, 06:33 PM
That's about 448rwhp with a 6spd.Your first bolt-on should be a cold-air intake there's no way your stock airbox can flow enough air. That simple bolt-on will probably net 20+ hp because of the restriction.
leftcoast32
10-09-2005, 08:11 PM
I would assume a 15% loss of horsepower for the 6 speed which should be 560-84=476 RWHP. Tell me if my math is off.
560 X .15 = 84
560 - 84 = 476
leftcoast32
10-09-2005, 08:17 PM
The stock RWHP I figured the same way 400-60=340 RWHP. They did a dyno run of my SSR before the install and got 340 RWHP from it completely stock.
400 x .15 = 60
400 - 60 = 340
BlownChevy
10-09-2005, 09:24 PM
you will see about 460 SAFE rwhp when all is said and done.
leftcoast32
10-09-2005, 09:28 PM
That sounds great, 460 RWHP is a great number for a street car. I like the way the dyno sheet shows a torque curve that is as flat as the pacific horizon here in California. I was posting to show the assumed 15% loss for drivetrain.

I am planning a few modifications when I get it back. The small duct you see below the foam actually shields the filter from direct air. I want to trim the shield off. If you look at the picture with the hood closed you will see an opening below the trim with Chevrolet written on it and above the Bowtie. This opening is sealed against engine temp and air with the foam you see.
If you take it real easy you can get it to about 30 mpg. I cannt do that for more then a second before temptation takes over.
Tell me how you like that 6 speed, it is call the M10 and is a beefed up T56.

The SSR in stock form weighs 4,700 pounds, roughly the same weight as a SCSB. I do believe I can get the weight down a little. The engine, 6 speed and 14 bolt eaton rear axle are all real strong to say the least. It would be a great transplant for a SCSB 2WD.

I just got back home from picking it up, the drive is 161 miles.
First impression: I could feel that the power was alot different then before. I tended to run the rpms up real high around 4500-6500 before the Radix. It know feels the best all the way from 2500-6500 rpms, it literally sits you back in the seat. On the highway it can best be described as a Freight Train (good analogy BlownChevy) it is unreal from 65-120 on a 3rd gear drop (be ready to shift real fast). The power is so linear that you dont notice how fast you are accelerating until you look at the cars that were just next to you, they are now back 1/8 mile or more within a few seconds. Getting over to my house I had a chance to run a good 1st to 2nd romp and my neck is hurting. This thing revs as fast as my 2002 Z06 did, I am going back out for a little drive.

Keep in mind that this is completely stock other then the Supercharger. I still have to do LT Headers, Full Exhaust, Intake Mods, 4.10 or 4.56 Gears then I will probably need some different pullies for the back of the supercharger to get the boost at 6-7 psi.
I need to do something about the traction first. It will still launch pretty good out of the hole from an idle and once you are moving it stays put real good. I just want some stickier tires that are a little wider (335/30R20), these are actually 1" shorter so it will effect the feel also.

I have gone up and down the street (Melrose Dr) 3 different times since getting home. This thing is just unbelieveable, the power is so linear.
I want to thank you publicly for everything you have done with my SSR. Thank everyone at Magnuson Products for me again too.
Thank you for letting us use your truck for development....I wish I could have waxed her up again after the rain though.....She was lookin sweet before the rain came.

This thing is so strong throughout the rpm range and pulls all the way to redline at 6500 rpms.

This thing just keeps feeling stronger and stronger. Best part is that around town driving is the same as stock.
